We are in search of an energetic, trustworthy, and innovative Montessori teacher to join our esteemed school in Midrand, Gauteng.
Role Overview:
The Montessori teacher will be responsible for creating lesson plans and curricula that focus on developing social, physical, intellectual, and emotional skills. The role involves assessing children’s individual needs and maintaining regular communication with parents. The ideal candidate should foster a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment where every child feels included and valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Observing, guiding, supervising, and assessing children in the classroom.
Developing lesson plans, independent learning exercises, and curricula tailored to individual child needs.
Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom.
Building trust-based relationships with students.
Setting exemplary standards for students and instilling values like honesty, accountability, understanding, tolerance, respect, love, and kindness.
Monitoring student progress and preparing reports.
Ensuring classroom supplies and equipment are available and functional.
Managing records on the school database and handling administrative tasks.
Participating in school activities and accompanying students on field trips.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma/Certificate in early childhood teaching, education, or related discipline.
SACE registration.
Training completion at an accredited Montessori Center.
Additional courses or training in education are advantageous.
Passion for alternative education.
Ability to teach diverse groups of children.
Patience, excellent observational, communication, and diagnostic skills.
Multitasking ability, calm demeanor under pressure, and a respectful approach to all.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
A commitment to lifelong learning and being a positive role model for children.
