Over the course of just eleven years, our small start-up has blossomed into a major player in the global betting software industry.

Our roots trace back to a small team of developers within Hollywoodbets, who were determined to create innovative solutions that would rival the best in the world.

We worked tirelessly to develop a cutting-edge betting software system for South Africa's leading bookmaker from scratch, in addition to other revolutionary solutions. Thanks to our team's fearless approach, we quickly outgrew our commercial parent, and BET Software was born as a stand-alone software development house.

Today, we are one of the largest and most diverse betting software providers in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a reputation for delivering reliable and user-friendly solutions on a global scale.

Our Journey

Our journey began in 2010 when we launched our software development start-up at the Hollywoodbets' Argyle branch in Durban. We may have started small, but we had a great deal of motivation and ambition, which allowed us to hit the ground running.

By March 2014, we had successfully launched our retail roll-out and never looked back. We gradually transitioned all shared services from Hollywoodbets into BET Software, which rebranded as such.

The team grew to a total of 277 All-Stars, which led to the development of SyX software and its launch in Pretoria's River Square branch in 2013. The first bet was placed on November 25, 2013, on a horse called Amber Ace in Race 3 at Flamingo Park.

By June of that year, we outgrew Hollywoodbets' in-house support function, and our team members moved into a new building at Tetford Circle in Umhlanga, marking our departure from the Hollywoodbets nest. By September, we had completed the online customer migration, and Hollywoodbets retail transition over to SyX.

Our Global Presence

As we continued to expand our services, we achieved record bet rates each week and ventured into new countries in Africa. Our efforts culminated in securing a UK license, a massive achievement in the industry.

SyX has already launched in several countries, powering AfricaBet in Zambia and Zimbabwe, Hollywoodbets in Mozambique and Malawi, and SIMA Communications in Lesotho. We are also set to power Hollywoodbets in Kenya, and we can't wait to see where the future takes us.
