Group Collections & Recoveries Strategy Manager
The purpose of the role is to execute the Groups collections and recoveries strategy that maximises prospects of full collection through the implementation of collection activities and controls that effectively manages delinquency ratios and losses, whilst maintaining customer goodwill.Although this is a Group role, the successful candidate may be based in any of our 11 offices in Africa. 1. Develops the groups Credit risk management framework, standards and methodology2. Develops an adequate and relevant collection strategy commensurate with the size and risk of the portfolio.3. Ensures that all Collections & Recoveries policies and procedures are compliant with the country regulations, these should be documented and reviewed regularly.4. Creates significant capability in Collections and Recoveries Analytics to ensure that all collection and recovery activities are carried out in compliance with the agreed standards and with due recognition of the regulatory guidelines within the country and the overall Operational Risk Framework.5. Ensures that all risks in Collections & Recoveries processes are identified, measured, monitored and controlled.6. Makes optimal use of all collection and recoveries tools and using analytics and data segmentation to enhance collection and recovery efficiency.7. Ensures that portfolio analysis conducted by the Credit team is fully leveraged for collections activity8. Ensures timely closure of control issues raised by operation risk team as well as ensuring closures with no repeats in the collections area.9. Accounts for compliance with Operational Risk, against money laundering guidelines, reputational risk and local regulations on collection activities, and data confidentiality policies.10. Ensures timely, accurate submission of reports and information is highlighted immediately.11. Ensures adherence to collection processes, procedures and ensure activities are aligned to Group collection policy and process standards and local regulations.
