The company is the leading provider of roof sheeting, accessories and related building solutions in Uganda, with a wide range of specialist products for the construction industry. Uganda Baati Ltd is a member of the Safal Group of companies - the Africas largest steel roofing company. We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of Maintenance Engineer reporting to the Production Manager. The main purpose of the position is to:1. To provide an effective and responsive maintenance service to production and other sections of the Company.2. To safely and effectively execute all the scheduled and un-scheduled Mechanical work required to maintain all plant and Equipment at the levels of availability, reliability and capacity necessary to achieve production goals.3. To provide emergency response to maintenance requirements as part of rostered callout arrangements. 1.Qualifications required:Minimum academic qualification: A bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.Qualifications as an added advantage: NoneProfessional registration: registration with Engineers body2.Experience required:General work experience (years): 5 to 10 years of working experienceIndustry: Manufacturing Sector or FMCG, with exposure to roll forming operations and heavy mobile equipment including overhead cranes and forklifts.3.Key competencies and skills:Good hands on technical skillsSpeed and quick turnaround in repairs and machine availability4.Language requirements:English.5.Computer literacy: Microsoft Office SAP/ERP Software Application experienceExcellent communication and presentation skills.Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail.6.Personality profile: Analysing complex technical problems, evaluating alternatives and making sound independent judgements within established guidelines.Good business acumen and must be able to establish credibility, trust, and partnership at all levels of the organisation.High energy, enthusiasm and commitment towards the mission, goals and values of the company and department.Preparing clear, concise and complete reports and other written material, making clear oral presentations.Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.Strong strategic and planning skills7.Additional/specific work requirements:High level of integrityAbility to work under pressure.
