Role PurposeTo effectively and efficiently manage the claims department to provide superior claims service and build excellent relationships with service providers, thereby ensuring the retention and support the business strategy. OutputsTake appropriate action to minimise cancellationsEnsure retention targets are metEnsure appropriate minimisation of claims and claims expensesEnsure and contribute to minimisation of general expensesEnsure that all stakeholder (e.g. insurer, account executive, client) communication is accurate, timeous, professional and relevant Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholdersEnsure and contribute to achieving own and company required client satisfaction targetsManage claim process end to endProcess and ensure all claims and recoveries are processed within the required parametersEnsure effective complaint resolution within the required time linesEnsure service level agreements are metFollow and ensure adherence to claims settlement processesFollow and ensure adherence to underwriting processes for cancellationsEnsure adherence to company mandatesManage the compilation and distribution of reports as requiredUtilise reports to action interventions and improvementsTake responsibility to ensure payments by from insurer to broker and broker to client are timely and completeInform and advise underwriters regarding underwriting risks posed to claimsApprove valid and complete mandated claims for paymentExecute regular quality assurance reviews to ensure compliancy as per the claims methodologyParticipate and contribute in ad hoc projectsReport any suspected fraud, misrepresentation and/or dishonestyLive the RBS values Ensure continuous self-developmentShare information and knowledge with the teamOngoing training, coaching and mentoring of direct reportsPerformance management of direct reports
