MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:To establish robust project control systems and processes. To co-ordinate, direct and supervise all key projects related activities in order to support Swakop Uraniums business objectives and growth through planning and execution of key projects. Key Performance Areas:Direct Engineering Processes and Resources to deliver fit for purpose designs that meets business requirements.Oversee the implementation of all required Project Execution Systems and Procedures, including but not limited to SHE, Project Controls, Procurement and Contracts, Engineering Construction, Quality Assurance and Quality Control.Ensure the project objectives, scope and plan are well defined and understood by the project team and stakeholders.Ensure that the approved scope, budget and schedule are established as a control baseline and that effective change management systems are in place to identify, mitigate and manage change.Evaluate and prioritize prospective projects.Support Procurement Process.Ensure that the project is in compliance with health, safety, environmental and community regulations and corporate standards.Support Company Safety Culture to execute projects with zero-harm.Execute the project in accordance with the Project Execution Plan and ensure the multiple consultants and contractors are managed effectively, including battery limits and interfaces.Ensure the project is on schedule and budget. Where variance exists, establish a plan of action to correct or communicate the variance, and ensure mitigation plans are approved prior to implementation.Establish robust project control systems and processes.Ensure schedule and cost forecasts are accurate and that contingency funding is appropriately managed. Report progress and forecast progress regularly and transparently using standard earned value practices.Ensure the project team follows the proper procurement and contract procedures, while managing the tendering and decision-making process. Ensure a proper contact person is assigned for any contractors involved in the project.Identify continuous improvement initiatives and develop plans to deliver value savings.Oversee execution for multiple projects across different the business areas.Identify, mitigate, monitor, and respond to risks affecting project execution.Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer's data and execute project based upon said documentation.Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.Manage the overall project schedules, including creating the master schedule and updating them on a weekly basis.Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.Review submittals for compliance with project manual and plans, manufacturer's recommendations and code, or other standards applicable to the system.With the project team to manage the companys quality control program for the project.Develop, evaluate, negotiate and execute a wide variety of different contracts covering a range of transactions.Create and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers, and serve as a point of contact for matters concerning project related contracts.Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension or renewal according to whats best for the company.Resolve any contract-related problems or issues that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.Conduct on-site project meetings with Contractors, subcontractors, and OEMs.
