Head of Shared Services
Reporting to the CFO, this role is responsible for the creation, development and management of the Companys future shared services function that will support the whole business with transaction processing, financial controls, payments & collections. This role will own and be responsible for working capital management. Management of KPIs and motivation of people will be a key responsibility. Key Accountabilities and OutputsCredit Management and Collections Manage the Credit & Collection Manager/s and department through adequate measures Ensure standard credit policies and procedures are implemented and maintained Ensure adequate financial controls and processes Ensure constant monitoring of outstanding accounts and remedies to correct Ensure adequate systems and reports to manage efficiency and effectiveness of the departmentAccounts Payable and Vendor Management Manage the National Accounts Payable Manager and department through adequate measures Ensure standard AP policies and procedures are implemented and maintained Ensure adequate financial controls and processes Ensure timeous payment of suppliers and other creditors Ensure adequate systems and reports to manage efficiency and effectiveness of the department Review and release of supplier paymentsWorking Capital KPIs Manage the Trade and other Receivables Working Capital KPIs Manage the Trade and Other Payables Working Capital KPIsGeneral Manage a large team of functional experts Shape and articulate the shared services strategy and value proposition to all stakeholders Apply leading practice end to end process expertise in core finance in order to design and implement new re-engineered processes in a Shared Services Responsible for the management and improvement of Working Capital Co-ordinate strategic planning processes for the organisation Ensure that risks relating to strategy are managed Develop operational policies, processes and procedures Ensure that business risks are identified, assessed and managed Ensure that adequate plans have been developed to deal with functional audit findings Ensure that functional business continuity plans are in place Ensure that succession planning takes placeBehavioural Competencies Ability to work independently and under pressure Assertiveness Direct experience in creating business change using enabling technologies Experience establishing and maintaining customer relationships Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment Ability to interact effectively with client executives, vendors and third-party providers Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
