Head of Compliance
The role holder w ill be responsible to manages the Compliance organisation within Bryte Africa Group. Establishes the strategic direction and leads the Compliance function for South Africa.Represents the Compliance function to counsel the Business and coordinate with other assurance providers in ensuring compliance with laws, rules and regulations, industry and internal standards. Cooperates with local business management to support the implementation of a robust compliance program. Key Tasks & AccountabilitiesDirects Compliance Function and prioritises the accompanying resources and budgetResponsible for the development and monitoring of the annual Compliance PlanSets direction for internal Compliance policy aspects e.g. risk identification and management, monitoring, training, business advice, new laws and trends management and promotion of Compliance best practice. Sets the strategic direction for the Compliance function to achieve its objectives in close cooperation with business managementDelivers adequate Compliance Reporting to all appropriate business levels. Inputs into the development of a strong Compliance organisation with sufficient talent and adequate resources to achieve the Operational Compliance Plan and other required work by adopting recruitment, performance and retention standards to ensure high calibre peopleHas oversight for regulatory landscape, as well as business risks providing compliance support for any significant corrective action plans driven by the businessSupports relationship with regulators according to organisational structure including regular reportingDirects the development and implementation of business facing policies and procedures necessary to facilitate the business and employees compliance with applicable laws and regulationsAdvises executive management on the impact to organisation regarding any relevant compliance related internal and external market developmentsPrepares and conducts presentations to the Board of Directors/Executive Management regarding the organisations compliance programme and communicates serious compliance matters with the Board/Management on an as needed basis.Responsible for providing education and training to business units regarding their responsibilities with respect to compliance.
