Short Term Contract based Junior Researchers
The Inclusive Economic Development (IED) division undertakes research to transform educational outcomes and increase economic participation. It recognises that education and the economy have long been linked, and conducts research to understand educational performance and improve learning outcomes, and to interrogate social, spatial and structural obstacles to economic participation.IED Changing Economies theme is looking to appoint a panel of Junior Researchers to provide research support on a number of research projects over a period of 24 months as and when the need arises. The positions are based in Cape Town, Durban or Pretoria. Applicants must be willing to work on short term contract/s from time to time based on the project needs during the 24 month project period. The maximum period of a short term contract will not exceed 11 months but candidates can be offered shorter period contracts. The possibility exists that Junior Researchers on this panel can be appointed on more than one occasion during the 24 month period. Key Responsibilities:Work with a research team on all aspects of conducting research, surveys and the analysis of resultant data and other relevant data sources;Write up research results for conference presentations, research reports and manuscripts for publication;Participating in the planning, undertaking and management of research fieldwork;Analysis of survey data and data from other secondary sources;Assist with literature reviews and other secondary data searchesParticipating in the formulation of research questions and projects;Conduct research and facilitate exchange of information among colleagues;Collection and analysis of data and preparing research reports and manuscripts for publicationAssist with the Managing, planning and coordinating of project meetings, dissemination workshops, policy roundtables and events
