Overberg Water requires 4 Plant Attendants for various water treatment and waste water treatment plants within Western Cape.2 x Overberg Airforce Base2 x Brandvlei Correctional FacilityCandidates studying relevant fields are also encouraged to apply for practical training in the relevant fields. Main duties/responsibilities Regular monitoring, recording and effective communication of important operational parameters and incidents through both traditional and electronic systemsFormal and informal meeting attendance or reporting of process parameters and incidentsAbility to calculate, analyse and interpret water quality and unit process parametersStructured communication/liaison in response to queries and complaints from interested stakeholdersEnsure adherence to the OHS Act requirements on site at all timesConduct water quality tests to ensure drinking water/effluent meet the requirements of relevant standard as set out in the National Water Act, Regulations and Water licensesKeep inventory of all plant consumables required for operational actities, housekeeping, and any other activities identified within the plantCarry out reasonable and lawful instructions given by the line manager or supervisor within the ambit of the position taking into account competencies and operational requirementsSafeguard of the plant assets at Public Works sitesAlthough based at specific facility, incumbents may need to rotate/travel to other sites and/or areas based on business operational demandsExperience and Qualifications:Grade 12 or Matric and/or relevant trainingBasic Water Care and/or Waste Water care operation certificateUnendorsed code B drivers licenceExcellent communication, writing and people skillsEnsuring ethical standards adherence to statutory requirements of all legislationsWillingness to work shifts and physical fitsAt least 12-month experience in drinking water and/or waste treatment water facilities/Candidates studying relevant fields are also encouraged to apply for practical training in the relevant fieldsSkills:Excel Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Mathematics literacySmall Maintenance SkillsGood verbal and written communicationOrganised and able to meet deadlinesQuality orientatedDaily Plant Maintenance skillsAttention to details and qualityReporting
