Build and grow the reputation of Wilderness Safaris portfolio of brands, as well as its culture and values with internal stakeholders (our staff), through the promotion of news, events, changes, campaigns and successes across a range of media, whether print, digital, video, podcasts or events and presentations. Ensure timely and effective communication to over 2 000 staff members across all regions to ensure our staff live the company values, feel connected to the business, as well as its leadership, and not only understand the business objectives, but also buy into our vision and brand plans, building loyal brand ambassadors.As Africas leading conservation tourism company, Wilderness Safaris operates camps and safaris in some of Africas best wildlife and wilderness areas across seven countries: Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. In this way it offers its guests private access to almost 2.3 million hectares of Africas most remote and pristine wildlife areas, while remaining fiercely committed to protecting our planets precious natural and cultural resources. Wilderness is deeply committed to making a positive impact, and aims to double the conservation land under its protection across the globe KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESInternal communication strategy:Collaborate with HR and colleagues across all work streams to assist in the development and execution of an internal communications strategy (for group and regional staff), which helps to foster a culture aligned to our values, and enables the delivery of the business growth plans and vision. Ensure optimal use of all available communication mediums, including the intranet, internal Facebook page, internal newspaper, monthly mailer and WhatsApp/SMS, etc.Internal communication schedule:Develop an internal communication schedule to ensure appropriate communication to all areas of the business across all regions at regular and appropriate times. Support HR and Training with marketing and content requirements for the intranet and any marketing assistance required for future points distribution/gamification processes of the site; manage the We Are Wilderness internal Facebook page and add and oversee the content; write the monthly internal e-newsletter, The Skimmer newspaper and biographies of key staff members, as well as other content required to share our key messaging for both the brand and overall business to staff. Stakeholder management: Establish and maintain excellent communication with all key divisions and geographical parts of the business relevant to the role to ensure all staff are informed about strategic and brand initiatives, changes, decisions, news, events, etc. Ensure that the companys brand values are shared across the board and that company culture and communications are consistent. Crisis communication:Support senior colleagues with the development of appropriate internal communications to help manage crises when they occur, including writing key messaging for internal staff. Internal awards Work closely with HR to drive the companys internal awards and recognition programmes and campaigns; develop content and messaging thereof to ensure cutting-edge communication applicable to all areas of the business. Corporate communication:Compile and manage proactive updates from the CEO and Exco members to the business, using various media such as emailers, videos, vlogs, podcasts, etc. to ensure the message gets across to the regions and camp staff, as well as office teams and remote workers. Arrange monthly talks/updates in the Jhb and CT offices, and other regional offices when required, that comprise casual conversations with the CEO, MD or other Exco team members about important business updates; drive a culture of buy-in and inclusion so staff are motivated and feel part of the overall vision.Contribute to the broader marketing team:Through exceptional understanding and knowledge of Wilderness Safaris portfolio of brands, its culture, values, business strategy and marketing strategy. Ensure that our brand values are consistently and accurately portrayed throughout the business, and that you personally embody Wilderness Safaris values and essence. Build the internal perception of the marketing team Building bridges into other work streams, positively contributing to the spirit and atmosphere of the team; working with the marketing and creative teams to ensure all marketing projects are launched or appropriately leveraged internally to build culture and values
