This position has the responsibility to train guides and potential guides in all aspects of guiding tourists in areas that Wilderness Safaris operates in Namibia. This includes implementing course material, staying up to date with developments in the industry, presenting formal and informal courses and delivering on-the-job training in the camps. The incumbent will be responsible to train, monitor and measure the training and development presented and ensure that it is in line with the strategy of the company. This position will report to the Hospitality Support and work alongside camp management to meet training and operational goals. Setting up annual training schedules for guide trainingEncourage ongoing personal development of guidesProvide ongoing on the job training for guidesInductions and area training sessions with guides in or at our lodges and campsResponsible for coordination and implementation of various Guide training and monthly reporting thereofDevelop and train guides in the maintenance and care of the front of all guide equipment and how to maintain the look and feel as per the Wilderness Safaris Standards.Maintaining and Development of new guide courses and training material while utilizing the available resourcesWork closely with each Camp General Manager to ensure training the training of the guides and provide support to ensure that standards are upheld regarding the guest experience.Mentor and guide all guides working for Wilderness Safaris (in Namibia) to ensure all guides are trained according to Wilderness Safaris (in Namibia) standards to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity and enhance the facilitated guest learning experience through guidingDeliver a meaningful and useful support service to the lodges, including training and recruitment of guides alongside the Camp General ManagerOrganize training trips, venues and materials to conduct courses related to the Local guide qualification.Do regular skills assessments of guides in the camp and evaluate the training needs of individual guidesConduct guided activities and tours on occasion.Provide a support service to the camps for ordering of equipment and guide tools and books
