You will work within the ICT unit of the Council for Medical Schemes and report to the Chief Information Officer. As the Network Manager, you will be responsible for: Managing network operations and related infrastructure services, and supporting solutions for network connectivity technologies including client VPN, LAN, WAN etc. in accordance with CMS information architecture policies, standards, and procedures: - Management and maintenance of IT infrastructure (server rooms, server software, switches, cabling, routers, firewalls, UPS, generators, cameras, etc.) and IT systems for efficient business operations, and adherence to System Administration Plan; - Management of the CMS backup solutions by ensuring timely & routine backups and verifying the integrity of such backups; - Update end-user machines and all servers with latest software patches, including antivirus, as well as third party applications to ensure machine protection and that machines function optimally;- Secure data at rest and in transit by effectively applying required security measures and constant monitoring to ensure the protection of data against internal and external security breaches;- Install or assist with installation of network hardware and peripheral components such as network switches, cabling, wireless access points, routers, firewall and other network infrastructure hardware;- Produce Data centre, office network and network security designs to support evolving business needs;- Plan and implement LAN, voice, and wireless network solutions in accordance with the agreed design; - Ensure the infrastructure is in compliance with best practices and proper documentation is in place including change control;- Develop and set policies and procedures within the IT Support team as well as for all employees for the use of the IT infrastructure;- Work with other departments to ensure servers, websites and databases are maintained to a defined SLA; and- Assist the CIO with constant improvement of technology infrastructure through the testing of new technologies and awareness of new technology developments. Backup and Disaster Recovery: - Implement a disaster recovery plan for the IT infrastructure and ensure that the plan is maintained and can be tested for high viability. Supervisory and management function:- Manage the performance, and provide mentoring to the Network staff; - Oversee the helpdesk function to address complex technical matters to ensure high level of end-user satisfaction;
