South Africa has the highest number of people living with HIV in the world over 7 million people. To turn the tide on HIV and AIDS, we need to bring all sectors of society together and strengthen the community systems that support people. NACOSA is a networking organisation that brings communities together to tackle HIV and its impact on vulnerable people. We have a 19 year track record of working with donors, government and communities to strengthen community systems and turn the tide on HIV, AIDS and TB. We do this through mobilizing our network of over 1,900 organisations, promoting dialogue between government and affected people, building capacity with accredited training, mentoring and technical assistance and channeling resources to support service delivery on the ground, particularly for children and youth, key populations and women and girls. The GBV Technical Specialist Role:The GBV Technical Specialist position will support and deliver on NACOSAs USAID funded Community-based Violence Prevention and Linkages to Response in SA Programme. This position focuses on delivering programmes to:Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM)Survivors of gender-based violenceThe GBV Technical Specialist forms part of the Senior Management Team of the award and would be responsible for providing overall management and strategic guidance in the GBV Post Violence Care element of the award. The key performance areas of the role are:Support the provision of comprehensive and age-appropriate clinical post-GBV care that meets the expressed needs of GBV survivors at specialized post violence care centers and/or those integrated into HIV clinical service delivery platforms at selected supported sites. Support the expansion of post violence care services at designated hospitals and public health facilities Provide in-depth programmatic guidance and leadership on the continuum of care for survivors of sexual assault to implementing partners through meetings, workshops, capacity building interventions and materials development. Provide technical assistance and support to District Support Partners and other US Government supported implementing partners on GBV clinical case management, integration of GBV and Intimate Partner Violence risk assessment into clinical and routine enquiry and develop accompanied training materials and job-aids. Facilitate the provision of quality assurance of GBV services in collaboration with USAID and the Department of Health at selected sites. Contribute significantly towards the development and maintenance of a GBV Post Violence Care Programme Implementation Description detailing the theory of change and the implementation model aligned to country priorities and evidence informed methodologies.Contribute to the programme work plan in alignment with the NACOSA strategic plan and funder agreements and coordinate and manage the implementation of the work plan over the grant period.Assist with the programme budgeting process and monitor and report on programme expenditure. Analyse programme performance and report to stakeholders and donors as required.Produce written reports and presentations on programme objectives, implementation plans and performance.Coordinate with other programme stakeholders to ensure the delivery of a harmonized, high impact programme. Network with, and build strategic alliances and relationships with key stakeholders in the AGYW and GBV field and act as a thought leader in the development and evaluation of AGYW and GBV programmes in South Africa.
