SENIOR MANAGER: PROJECT ACCOUNTING
The Senior Manager: Project Accounting is responsible for the provision of Project Accounting services to Service SETA. The role involves assisting the organization in the preparation of all project accounting and financial data. The incumbent further ensures compliance with accounting policies, standards, principles, all acts and other statutory requirements. DUTIES:Mandatory and Discretionary grants managementAccurate allocation of grantsPayment of discretionary grantsPayment of mandatory grantsVerification of supporting documentation against discretionary contracts and processesExpenditure managementTimeous and accurate payment of suppliers and stakeholdersFinancial ReportingCompilation of statutory reportsCompilation of quarterly and annual reportsMonthly maintenance of the commitment schedule and commitment note to the AFSPerform accurate monthly reconciliationsInternal Controls and Risk ManagementContinuous improvement of financial policies and practisesContinuous improvement of discretionary grant allocation processesContinuous improvement of project management processesContinuously provide inputs to improve learning programmes implementation processesMonitoring of progress on the implementation of Auditor Generals recommendationsReduction in overall audit findingsEfficient document managementAchievement and management of the Departments business plansContribute to the development of the APP and SPDevelop operational plans for the DepartmentEnsure the implementation and compliance to reporting templates and frameworksEnsure monthly reporting in the DepartmentManage variances in actual vs. budget expenditure in all areas of accountabilityDevelop risk management strategies and risk register for the Department Develop polices, and procedures for the DepartmentEnsure clean, audit results Handle audit quieries and ensure the availability of information for audit purposesManage and monitor budget in the DepartmentPeople management Conduct timeous recruitment and selection of staffImplement SSETAs BEE targets in the DepartmentImplement SSETAs performance management in the DepartmentInduct and orientate direct reportsProvide capacity building, through training, coaching and development of direct reportsEnsure that employees have clear work expectations and goals,Ensure attendance of staffManage the disciplinary of employees in the Department
