We are focused on research, support and implementing integrated approaches to managing TB and HIV. The following positions have become available as part of the various projects currently being run by us and you are welcome to apply should you meet the requirements of the position. As part of the implementation of 3HP in South Africa, we will conduct a qualitative and quantitative study (CHIP-TB) to assess whether integrated community-based pediatric TB/HIV prevention services are feasible, acceptable and effective in increasing TPT uptake among child TB contacts of under 15 years in Nkangala district, Mpumalanga. As a Research Assistant, you are expected to recruit participants and coordinate and conduct qualitative interviews as part of the implementation research study. YOUR PRIMARY ROLE WILL BE TO PARTICIPATE IN:Participant recruitment and enrollment:Recruit potential participants for the studyEnsure that potential participants are provided with all the study details as described in the Participant Information Sheet.Administer written informed consentRecruit and schedule appointments for qualitative study participantsAssist study coordinator to plan recruitment schedulesConducting enrollment activitiesResearch related activities:Being responsible for the proper documentation of all study activitiesAdminister data collection instruments as required.Collect adherence data from electronic data monitoring devicesTranscribe qualitative interviews sessionsPerform quality checks on collected data.Data query resolutionComplete any other activities as required by the protocol or the study.Complete, compile and submit study case report forms (CRFs) and source documents timeouslyEnsure all records on participants are completed and accurately filed with strict adherence to documentation handling proceduresMaintain accurate study logs related to enrollment and other study activities. Report on daily/weekly activities to the Study Coordinator and meet stipulated enrollment and follow-up targetsParticipant Retention:You will also be required to retain participants by; Obtaining, verifying and updating detailed locator data from participant for all visits.If possible, reminding participants about their appointments just prior to each visitFollowing-up on participants to ensure study completionRecommending retention strategies to study managementGeneral Administration:You will be required to;Prepare participant files and documents.Safe storage and transportation of complete study documentsAttend study meetings to report on study progress
