The above position has become available at Triton Express Bloemfontein, reporting to the National Operations Manager. Developing new business by:Prospecting for new business by opportunity identification, area and business review, making telephonic contact and cold callingQualifying potential clients in terms of requirements (volumes, distribution areas, current providers, cargo types etc.)Typing client quotation and scheduling meetingsFormally presenting the business proposalConducting follow-up and progress callsObtaining client proposal acceptancesPreparing / submitting weekly new business reports / sales filtersGathering market intelligence / information in terms of freight service opportunities, competitor activities and reports, accordinglyMonitoring credit applications submitted for approval and expediting sameAchieving branch sales results by:Understanding sales expectations, monitoring own performance and correcting where neededIdentifying target markets / sales opportunities and routesPreparing sales filters, assessing clients against standard profiles, reviewing and setting ratesObtaining approval for new client proposalsMonitoring, investigating, administering and approving client claimsMaintaining client services and sales volumes by:Handling client enquires, queries and problems and facilitating resolutionsConducting monthly and weekly service call visitationsIdentifying and capitalize on service / sale extension opportunitiesAdvising rate increases and processing procedural changesBuilding client relationships at all levelsScheduling and maintaining client visitation rosterPreparing weekly visitation reportsIdentifying client sales volume declines and implementing corrective actionDetermining branch strategies by:Gathering pertinent business freight service and operational informationIdentifying and evaluating trends and opportunitiesDetermining sales / operational strategies, defining objectives and evaluating the outcomeAchieving operational results by:Monitoring / enforcing the application of Branch inbound / outbound procedures and service standardsReviewing operations performance via Freightware and management reports in terms of damages, claims, productivity, PODS processed, load times, customer complaints, delivery problems, special requirements, etc.Monitoring fleet needs, maintenance costing and sub-contractor service levelsHandling major customer complaints and problemsConducting route re-engineering, as indicatedRecommending new operations policy / procedures and methodsMaintaining branch administration and financial control by:Reviewing and authorising creditors payments / reconciliationsReviewing / authorising petty cash expenditure and reconciliationAuthorising branch expenditure within agreed limitsReviewing and authorising staff change documentation including engagements, terminations, salary / wage adjustments, transfers, promotions, etcMonitoring the application of all administrative procedures and take action with regard to deviations, including banking, vehicle and tyre maintenance, vehicle logs, etcReviewing branch profit and loss accounts, taking and maintaining appropriate actionMonitoring outstanding debts and implementing collections, as indicatedUndertaking branch assets and freight security auditing, investigating and reporting on deviations from asset register or freight holding reportsEnsuring the maintenance and Integrity of the branch IT and communication systemsMaintaining staffing levels, identifying training and development needs within branch by:Recruiting and selecting branch staffEnsuring the orientation of all new and promoted employeesDeveloping / ensuring implementation of branch training and development plansEnsuring a safe, healthy and secure working environment and compliance with Labour LegislationDeveloping succession and EE plans and personal growth opportunitiesDeveloping / reviewing position descriptions, communicating job expectations to direct reporting, managing performance, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees to ensure the achievement of performance and productivity standardsEnsuring compliance with all HR policies, practices and administrative procedures
