Our firms across the organisation cooperate closely and comply with consistent operating principles and quality standards.BDO South Africa has a vacancy for a Senior Manager ESG Service Line to be located in its Johannesburg office, reporting to the National Head of Risk Advisory Services. Role and Profile: In partnership with leadership of the Risk Advisory Services, the incumbent will be required to determine the long-term strategic objectives of the ESG Service Line and ensure business growth through directing and managing all ESG development and delivery activities that align with the organisational and divisional strategy and key business objectives. The candidate needs to be 100% accountable for ESG Service Line KPIs. The incumbent is to direct and manage the overall operational performance of the ESG services across the Regional Offices of BDO South Africa, as well as the sub-service lines in Advisory and manage the on-going development and enhancement of the ESG Service offerings with a focus on delivering high quality and high value services for our clients. Key Performance Areas: Strategy and Sustainability Understands key objectives for clients and BDO, sets priorities and direction and aligns people to the ESG objectives. Leadership and Succession Influencing clients, teams and individuals positively, leading by example and establishing valued relationships at all levels. Develops high performing individuals and teams for consistent and effective service delivery. Marketing and Business Development Analysing and exploring market trends specific to the firms ESG services and implementing measures that lead to growth. The Senior Manager represents BDO South in their area of expertise and is responsible for promoting BDO and its brand. The candidate is required to be a respected and well-known thought leader in the ESG market. Financial Performance Manages the growth of the ESG business lines revenue and profitability and assists Partners and Directors in the Advisory Service lines to achieve their Regional Office and personal financial objectives set out in the ESG business plan and strategy. Risk Management Assists with matters that may potentially have risk management implications for BDO South Africa. Report these to the Head of Risk Advisory and NRC and recommend resolutions. Quality Control Responsible for establishing and maintaining quality standards for ESG services as well as determining the technical training needs of the various levels of Partners, Directors and staff in the Service Line. Approve minimum training requirements. Human Resources In consultation with People and Culture, implement effective succession planning, people management, development, recruitment, and retention strategies for the division. Promotion of employment equity and transformation. Information Technology Identify critical system problems and concerns that are hampering delivery of quality service to our clients and liaise with IT to resolve the issues. Management of advisory services innovation, origination and maintenance. Administration - Attend monthly OPSCO meetings and report back on activities and developments in the Service Line. Ensure smooth operations for the ESG Service Line.
