Project Cost Accountant

Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position. The position will be based in Western Cape, Stellenbosch, which includes remote working. The individual will report to the Head of Fibre.PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the accurate accounting of cost and resources to fibre construction projects. Key Responsibility Areas: Applying principles of cost accounting to conduct studies that provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems.Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine the cost of business activities.Analysing data obtained and recording of results.Analysing actual costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures.Compiling cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.Making estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
