To ensure that the IT systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. Develop and implement networks and servers and monitor system security, stability and performance. Ensure that EPPF IT systems are secure, consistent and reliable.- Maintain and optimize local EPPF company networks and servers- Oversee data backup and system security operations (e.g. user authorization, firewalls)- Manage the IT installations, upgrades and configurations of hardware and software- Assess system performance and recommend improvements- Resolve issues escalated by technicians and engineers- Ensure data is handled, transferred or processed according to legal and EPPF company guidelines- Develop IT policies and practiceAct as a custodian for Infrastructure and Application Processes and supports continuous business improvement- Act as the central repository for all EPPF infrastructure and application processes and change authority for changes to these processes.- Liaise with process owners to determine the effectiveness and applicability of application processes.- Review actual behaviour and activity against mapped processes and record deviations.- Undertakes high level research, horizon scanning and analysis to identify future digital technology trends and assess applicability to support Fund objectives.- Balance current and new architecture and resources in the context of competing business demands. - Shares best practices, lessons and constantly updates the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions. - Assist in post implementation efforts to enhance performance and provide increased functionalityVendor and Service Provider Management- Plan, Lead and coordinate the procurement process around the appointment of vendors and service providers to assist the PMO with the execution of projects insofar as Project Management is concerned.- Establish relationships with suitable vendors and service providers for current and future projects- Identify, coordinate and establish mechanisms to drive enhanced value from project vendors and service providers People Management- Manage planning of resource requirements, ensure sufficient capable resources are in place to meet service delivery demands, maintaining the effective and efficient capability of the department.- Build a high performing team where the best people are deployed in the right roles and deliver against strategy. - Ensure that all employees are motivated, developed.- Manage employees performance and ensure that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard.- Implement and maintain an effective system of internal controls and delegations of authority for the department, to ensure that accountability for decisions made.- Inspires, aligns and engages employees around the vision and strategy of the Fund, maximising employee engagement and willingness to invest discretionary effort Budgets / Financial Management- Forecast operational budgets in line with corporate guidelines.- Compile and gain budget approval in line with policy guidelines. - Manage costs against guidelines, and ensure alignment of expenditure with the budget.
